Kate has recently returned home to Far North Queensland after living in London, where for 10 years she was a highly sought after calligrapher entrusted to provide calligraphy for honoured recipients such as Their Majesties and Sir Quentin Blake.

Born in Cairns, Queensland, Kate travelled to London in 2011 and, after many years working in marketing, she turned her hand to the craft of beautiful writing in 2014. Little did she know the adventures on which it would take her. From creating very meaningful mementos with artwork, working with brides to create captivating stationery, and bringing a personal touch to brand and corporate marketing, Kate has had the opportunity to calligraph a vast multitude of things - there was never a boring moment in her Wandsworth and Croydon studios.

Some favourite and memorable moments in her calligraphy portfolio include

• product personalisation events at Harrods, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols

• moments of mindful flow calligraphing hundreds of place cards

• calligraphy on challenging surfaces - perspex menus, high gloss ceramic tiles, agate slices, oyster shells

Now, her Australian calligraphy studio -- set amid the backdrop of some of the world's most beautiful waterfalls and scenery on the Atherton Tablelands -- is open for business.

Kate is a co-founder of The Pointed Pen Collective with fellow calligrapher, Cecilia Boschi, hosting preeminent teachers from around the world. Soon, Kate will be teaching local in-person workshops for beginners.
